      • 5 incorrect installation methods for solar street lights

        broken image
      • There are five wrong installation methods for solar street lights, don't make them again!

Solar street lights are a new type of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly street lights that will not retain garbage and will not affect nature. Therefore, many urban lighting projects currently prefer to choose solar street lights. However, customers often report that the lights of solar street lights suddenly do not turn on, and they suspect that the quality of the street lights is a problem. In fact, except for a small part of quality problems, most of the reasons are because your installation method is incorrect. Let's take a look at the following 5 wrong installation methods:

        1. Install in a place with many obstructions

The working principle of solar street lights is that during the day the solar panels absorb the sun and store the energy into the battery. At night, the battery will supply power to the street lights. But then again, solar panels need to absorb sunlight before they can store electricity. If street lights are installed in places with many obstructions, such as covered by many big trees or blocked by buildings, they will not absorb sunlight. So the light will not be bright or the brightness will be dim.

        2. Installed near other light sources

The solar street light has its own control system, which can recognize the dawn and darkness. If you install another power source next to the solar street light, when the other power source is on, the solar street light system will think it is daytime, and it will not light up at this time.

        3. Solar panels are installed under other shelters

We all know that solar panels are composed of multiple strings of cells. If one string of cells is not exposed to sunlight for a long time, then this set of cells is equivalent to useless. The same is true. If the solar street light is installed in a place, there is a certain area of the solar panel that just happens to be covered by some obstructions or under other shelters. If this area is not exposed to sunlight for a long time, the sunlight cannot be converted into electricity. The battery in that area is also equivalent to a short circuit.

        4. Install lights on both sides of the road, and the solar panels are tilted face to face

It should be very common to install lights on both sides of the highway, but there will also be a problem, that is, the sun will only rise from the east. If the solar street light on one side is facing east and the street light on the other side is facing west, then one side of the solar street light won't absorb sunshine because it is facing the wrong direction. The correct installation method should be that the solar panels face the same, and the solar panels on both sides can absorb sunlight.

        5. Solar street lights are charged indoors

Some customers install solar street lights in the parking lots or other indoor spaces because they are convenient for lighting. However, if it is installed indoors, the solar street light will not work because its solar panels are completely under the shelter and cannot absorb sunlight. Without sunlight, it cannot be converted into electricity and cannot be illuminated. If you want to install solar street lights indoors, you can install solar panels and lights separately, so that the panels are charged outdoors and the lights are indoors. Of course, we can also choose another lighting for indoor lighting.
